Children's Ministry Extracurricular Activities

There are two Children's Choirs: the Alleluia Singers, for children in kindergarten through 3rd grade, and the Lantern Chorale, for children in grades 4 through 8. For more information, click here. Both choirs are now on break for the summer and will reconvene in September of 2017.

Upcoming Children's Events

Summer Church School and Nursery Volunteers Needed: In order to give our Church School teachers a break, we are in need of volunteers to assist with the pre-school class from June 4 to August 13 and with Godly Play for kindergarten - second grade in the month of July. Please consider serving for one Sunday this summer! All curriculum and supplies will be provided. Feel free to contact Liz Allen or Matt Nabinger to volunteer or with any questions you may have.

SAVE THE DATES: Vacation Bible School will run from August 28 to August 31, 2017 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. The program will be based on Cokesbury’s “Super Heroes” curriculum, and we will run the program in-house this year. We are looking for both youth and adult vounteers for VBS to help decorate the week before, prepare and serve snacks each morning, assist with recreation, and shepherd children from one activity to another. Please contact Liz Allen at mslizallen@aol.com if you can help!

Annual Children's Events

Vacation Bible School VBS is a week-long summer day camp for children ages 3 (potty-trained) through 5th grade. It is usually held in August.
Worship Workshop One month during the year (generally during the winter) parents and children in second grade will have an opportunity to learn about worship, explore belonging to a community of faith through baptism and communion, and talk about the order of worship and liturgy. Children who complete the Worship Workshop receive their personal copy of the Presbyterian (USA) Hymnal.
Christmas Pageant

All children attending the 5:00 Christmas Eve Service are welcome and encouraged to participate in the Christmas Pageant as we need many shepherds, sheep, animals and angels. There will be no rehearsals, but children are asked to meet in Covenant Hall at 4:30 p.m. in order to allow time to put on their church costumes.

Receiving Bibles Third-graders receive the New Revised Standard Version Bible each spring.
